We all know that the spring semester is the worst. You start off strong then spring break comes around and all your motivation to finish the semester flies out the door. Your grades might start to slip, you might want to lay in bed and watch Shameless instead of working on your assignments. BUT DON’T DO IT!
I know it’s hard, but here are 3 sure ways to stay motivated during the last weeks of school.
1. Stay Organized – The more organized you are, the more you’re going to want to get things done. If your life is a mess, trust me, you’re going to want to turn on the television and not deal with it. But if you plan out your day and set time apart to do things, the easier it’s going to be to actually get things done.
2. Take care of yourself – If you lay in bed all day and eat Doritos, the moment you grab your textbook to study, you’re instantly going to feel lazy. And guess what? You’re probably not going to do anything then have to stay up until 3am trying to cram everything because you were too lazy to do it earlier. What you should do instead is exercise, go outside, eat healthy, and rest. The more you take care of your body the more energy you’re going to have to do your work and the more focused you’re going to be when you review it.
3. Remind yourself why you’re here – I know that when summer is right around the corner all you can think about is laying on the beach somewhere and you start to think if going to school is even worth it anymore. And we both know that IT IS! Remind yourself that you’re here to make a difference and you’re here to succeed. You don’t want to be the nurse, teacher, lawyer, or whatever you want to be, that gives up half way. Be the person that give it everything they’ve got until the very end!
So just remember, even though summer is right around the corner, don’t give up and give it everything you’ve got!
